Item 8.01 Other Events.
On December 11, 2014, Superior Energy Services, Inc. (the Company) issued a press release announcing that the Companys Board of Directors has authorized a share repurchase program of the Companys common stock to replace the existing program which expires on December 31, 2015. The new program will have an authorized limit of up to $500 million and will expire on December 31, 2016. A copy of the Companys press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and incorporated herein by reference.

Superior Energy Services Announces New Share Repurchase Program
Houston Dec. 11, 2014 Superior Energy Services, Inc. (NYSE: SPN) today announced that its Board of Directors has authorized the repurchase of up to $500 million of Superiors common stock over the next two years. The new program replaces Superiors existing $400 million authorization.
In making the announcement, Superiors President and CEO David Dunlap, stated, Were very pleased with the Boards decision to approve this new share repurchase program and believe it reflects the Boards confidence in both our short term prospects and our long term growth strategy. We have a highly disciplined approach to capital allocation and are committed to using our strong free-cash flow to fund investments that drive returns in addition to value enhancing share repurchases and dividends.
Superiors share repurchase program is intended to enhance shareholder value by making repurchases during periods of favorable market conditions. Under the programs terms, shares may be repurchased from time to time at the Companys discretion on the open market, through block trades or otherwise.
